The Solvay Ensemble Choir participated on Saturday 23rd March in the XXXVII Choral Singing Days of Los Corrales de Buelna. The concert was grouped into three blocks, in the first of which two pieces from John Leavitt's Festive Mass (Kyrie and Sanctus) were performed, along with another Sanctus, this one by the late Cantabrian composer Juan Jaúregui and the well-known Gabriel's Oboe by Ennio Morricone, which belongs to the soundtrack of the film The Mission. The second block was dedicated to the contemporary Norwegian composer Ola Gjieilo and included the works: Ecce Novum, Ubi Caritas, The Rose, Northern Light and The Lake Isle. The final block focused on more classical pieces: Choral from Cantata 147 by J.S. Bach, Gloria by Vivaldi, Ave Maria by Caccini, by Vavilov, with baritone Manuel Gandarillas as soloist, and the Ave Verum by Mozart.
The Solvay Ensemble was accompanied by the String Quartet "In C Major", guitarist Andrés Herrera and the group's pianist, Maite Alcalde. As always, the direction was led by Juan José del Valle.
