On Saturday 22nd November, the Feast of Saint Cecilia, the Solvay Ensemble Choir travelled to the city of Logroño to sing during the Holy Mass and subsequently offer a concert featuring some pieces from their repertoire. The event took place at the Church of Santiago el Real, a grand temple from the 16th century that also boasts a beautiful organ that has just been inaugurated. Our organist, Maite Alcalde, had the opportunity to perform the works we sang during the religious celebration on it. All attendees were able to delight in its exceptional sound.
It has become a tradition for the Solvay Ensemble to undertake a cultural trip to celebrate the patron saint of musicians. During these trips, in addition to having the privilege of singing in cathedrals or large temples of the nearby autonomous communities, we take the opportunity to engage in cultural visits and enjoy days of fellowship.
