The Solvay Ensemble Choir participated in the Grand Gala of the Centenary of the first photograph of the dance group "Virgen de las Nieves" from Tanos. The event took place on 18th July at the Concha Espina Theatre in Torrelavega. The Solvay Ensemble Choir performed, alongside the Santa María de Solvay choir, the choral part of the Romance of Conde Lara, as a preview of the show "Wedding in the Village" which will premiere at the Concha Espina on 12th November.
Throughout 2026, the Virgen de las Nieves Group will celebrate its centenary with various events, which were presented at this Grand Gala. The first photograph of the group was taken on 18th July 1926 and is the first recorded evidence of the existence of the folkloric group "Virgen de las Nieves" which is undoubtedly much older.
